imageCellphone snatching is all too common in today’s world, and as today’s smartphone not just carry your numbers and messages, but user important data as well, so it could turn out to become the victim’s worst nightmare.

But not to worry, technology has found a solution to his menace too, and in coming days smartphone’s would be smart enough to catch their thieves.

The remedy comes from tech giant Apple, which has submitted a patent application in which the iPhone's or iPad's Touch ID module, camera, and other sensors will acquire important information about the thief in event of the device gets stolen.

The information obtained includes a person fingerprints, picture and videos and also his/her voice.

Now, the patent is called the ‘biometric capture for unauthorized user identification,’ reported Zdnet. The mentioned technology would make the device capable of capturing, storing, and even transferring information on the person using it after it gets a command to do so, or after a number of unauthorized use attempts.

“The computing device may obtain biometric information and may store such biometric information,” the Cupertino based tech firm writes in its patent application.

“Such biometric information may be one or more fingerprints, one or more images of a current user of the computing device, video of the current user, audio of the environment of the computing device, forensic interface use information, and so on. The computing device may then provide the stored biometric information for identification of one or more unauthorized users,” it added.

However, it is pertinent to mention here that companies i.e. Apple files a number of patent applications, but few turn out to become products in the real world.
