The leading publishing book of summer is not a novel or a biography. It is a script. "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" the most eagerly awaited continuation of J.K. Rowling's favorite and profitable franchise is all set to hit bookshelves on Sunday, and it is already breaking records.
The script book is the top pre-order for both Amazon and Barnes & Noble, the eight story begins where the seventh book concludes i.e. "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," back in 2007.
“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is the book edition of the play, in a London theater by Jack Thorne based on a new and different story by Thorne, John Tiffany and Potter novelist J.K. Rowling. Harry now works at the Ministry of Magic and is married with three children. His oldest son, Albus, faces troubles in dealing with such a family legacy, according to the play’s website. (Rowling has asked those seeing previews of the play to resist sharing spoilers).
The US based bookseller Barnes and Noble said in a statement that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was its most pre-ordered book since 2007’s Deathly Hallows. It did not give sales figures but said the book was predicted to be the biggest seller of 2016. Over 450 million copies of the seven original Harry Potter books have been sold all over the world, in 79 languages. The movie franchise has gross more than $7 billion as well.
As Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book pre-orders pass 100,000 at Waterstones. Speaking to The Guardian, Kate Skipper, buying director at Waterstones, said the chain is “expecting this to be the biggest launch since Harry Potter seven.”
As thousands and millions of Harry Potter fans all over the world were not able to attend a performance of the play in London before the book launch, there has been an official request to the audience to “keep the secrets” of the new story . Rowling agreed to publish the script after demand from fans from all over the world. The book will be released on July 31.
