Pakistan Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq expressed that the selectors did a lot of hard work to finalize players for the England tour and Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah is likely to be included in the squad for the tour of England which is scheduled to begin in July.
According to local media reports, Inzamam also made it clear that while leg spinner Yasir Shah was called up for the camp, but the medical panel had said he would be fit to play again in 10 days’ time. “The report about Yasir is encouraging and he should be fit from his knee problem in 10 days according to doctors,”
"Besides, there was not a suitable off spinner who could have been selected and our leg spinner Yasir Shah is facing fitness problems and he is likely to be fit in ten days time", he asserted.
However, Yasir shah will now undergo a ten days period of fitness treatment and is expected to regain his fitness in time for the tour of England which starts on 14th July.
Inzamam said the fitness camp which is in progress at Abbottabad under the watchful eyes of Pak army's physical training instructors will help in improving the overall fitness standards of the players.
However, Inzamam expressed his gratitude to all the instructors who are working on the players. Inzamam said the selected players would return from the fitness camp on May 27. “They will be given a two-day rest and the skills camp will start from May 30 and continue till June 5,” he added.
Pakistan will play four tests, five ODIs and one Twenty20 during the England tour that starts in July.
