ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review arrangements for undertaking the additional 1000 MW LNG based projects under IPP mode.
Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was also present on the occasion, said a statement issued by Ministry of Finance here.
The meeting discussed arrangements regarding smooth supply of gas to these power stations and also had further deliberation on selection of sites.
The meeting was informed that sites for three plants of up to 600 MW had already been selected and sites for the remaining 400 MW were also being finalized.
In all, visits to 14 potential sites had been made for making the final selection.
The meeting was informed that basic framework for undertaking the projects would be submitted to the ECC for consideration soon.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Water and Power, Ministry of Petroleum, PPIB and other related departments attended the meeting.
