ATHENS: A bomb exploded early on Tuesday outside the offices of Greece's industry association in Athens, causing damage but no injuries, a police source said.
Calls to two Greek newspapers at 0050 GMT had forewarned police of the attack against the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, the source said.
The police quickly discounted a possible militant connection, pointing out that the warning before the attack and the target chosen indicated it was likely a far-left domestic group.
Television footage showed smashed windows on the building, which is opposite one of Athens' top hotels and adjacent to the embassy of Cyprus.
According to reports, the bomb had been placed in a backpack outside the association's offices, which is situated near central Syntagma Square.
