Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has refused to take any action against former Pakistani captain and batsman Younis Khan for his recent controversial comments against Test captain Misbahul Haq and Coach Waqar Younus.
According to local media reports the former PCB chairman Najam Sethi said, “I have heard about his remarks but I think we need to be a bit mature about this. Younis is a senior player and he has been playing well. One can understand some frustration but we need to move on”.
Najam Sethi also felt that both Younus and Misbah were mature people who had contributed a lot to Pakistan cricket in recent years. “I really don’t know what he exactly said on this issue but I don’t foresee any problems because of it”.
Younis said in his recent interviews, “I don’t know if I had not scored those 177 runs in the fourth innings of the third Test in Sri Lanka what would have happened. Most probably I would have been dropped. But this is not the way to treat senior players, they need to be given confidence. I have always give my best for Pakistan,” media reported.
Recently, Younis Khan became the fifth Pakistani and the 62nd overall to play 100 Tests. Younis has bagged many records in recent Test series against Sri Lanka, he has highest successful chase in history.
