ISLAMABAD: Thousands of Muslims offered special prayers for lasting prosperity, peace and communal harmony in the country on the auspicious occasion of the third Friday of the Holy month of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak observed here.
The importance of Friday is more than other days of the week. The Prophet Mohammad said: "Allah Almighty forgives the sins committed between two Fridays of the one who performs his Friday Namaaz regularly."
The worshipers from the federal capital had started reaching their nearby mosques much earlier for getting a better place and avoiding rush. The mosques of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were packed to capacity.
Maulana Khubain Salman, a prayer leader of Jamia mosques Sayedaina Amir Hamza, Rawalpindi said special prayers were offered for promoting brotherhood and elimination of terrorism from the country.
A large number of people offered Friday prayers at Faisal Mosque and offered special progress for welfare of the country.
