imageLAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that there are internationally reputed bankers, capable engineers, doctors and investors in Pakistan that also has rich natural resources, which can change destiny of Pakistanis.

Addressing a function arranged by Punjab Investment Board here, the Chief Minister stressed the need for collective work and effort for rapid development, asserting that local investors should make maximum investment and play their due role for changing destiny of 180 million Pakistanis.

The Chief Minister said, Punjab government has constituted Punjab Investment Board for the facility of investors which is taking vigorous steps for promotion of investment in the province.

He said, Pakistan is facing terrorism, extremism and energy crisis and these problems have caused irreparable loss to the development process and national economy, citing that thousands of Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism. He said that Pak Army is fighting against terrorism and terrorists bravely.

Shahbaz Sharif said that sit-ins and protest politics created hindrance in the journey of development last year due to which visit of Chinese President to Pakistan and development projects were delayed. Pakistan is facing problems of political and socio-economic survival and we have to rid the country of these problems through collective efforts by facing these challenges courageously.

The Chief Minister said that investment is increasing in the country due to transparent policy of present government which reflects confidence of foreign investors in the government and its policies.

He said that present government has introduced the culture of good governance, transparency and speedy completion of development projects. He hoped that historic economic package of $ 46 billion dollars of China will strengthen the national economy. A conducive atmosphere has also been created for investment in Punjab, he added.

Shahbaz Sharif said that complete security is being provided to the investors and facilities of investment are being provided to them under one roof. He said that power sector is of great importance for our survival and economic development and Punjab government is utilizing all out resources for eliminating energy crisis.

He said, we have to march forward with the spirit of development and make untiring efforts to change the destiny of the country.

Provincial Ministers, MNAs, MPAs industrialists, representatives of investment companies and senior officials of Punjab government were present. The Board Chairman Abdul Basit also addressed the function.
