As per the recent reports, Pakistani opener Ahmed Shehzad has been included in T20 squad only because of skipper Shahid Afridi. Management along with the former captain Misbah-ul-Haq wanted to drop Shehzad and Umar Akmal for atleast a year.
Misbah ul Haq and head coach Waqar Younis had suggested Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to drop Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal from the side for at least a year. PCB might have listen to them when they came to select Umar Akmal in the side while on Ahmed Shehzad they may have given up before Shahid Afridi, local media reported.
Shahid Afridi and Ahmed Shehzad shares a good rapport with each other and often been in headlines due to their ‘close friendship’. They also became a butt of jokes on Twitter during the World Cup 2015.
Pakistan’s upcoming tour to Bangladesh will start from April 17.
