HYDERABAD: The Pinyari police arrested a suspect street criminal and robber Shaukat Ali Bhutto in injured condition after an encounter with police and recovered an unlicensed pistol from his possession.
A police spokesman informed here Thursday that a gang of outlaws opened fire on the police as it raided a place in Liaquat Road area.
The suspect's accomplices Imran Qureshi, Adil Zai, Abid Qureshi and Prem Thakur escaped while taking advantage of the narrow lanes in the locality.
In another raid, Hali Road police arrested a known street criminal Dilbar Meerani alias Ali Raza in a raid in Railway Line Hazara Colony, he added.
