LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Monday said that collective decisions taken for eradication of terrorism were yielding positive results and Pakistan will win the war against terrorism.
He was talking to a delegation of office-bearers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz here. He said that the dream of progress and prosperity of the country can not be realized without elimination of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism.
He said that peace was essential for promotion of investment and problems like poverty and unemployment can be resolved only through strengthening the process of investment and industrialization in the country. He said that terrorism has created hurdles in the process of national progress and victory is the only option in the war against terrorism.
The Chief Minister said that due to political sagacity, wisdom and bold leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the courageous decisions taken by the national leadership, terrorism will be rooted out from the country.
He said that the sincere and serious efforts to rid the country of the menace of terrorism will succeed and terrorists will be held accountable for the blood of innocent Pakistanis.
He said that National Action Plan is a joint and effective strategy to cope with terrorism, extremism and sectarianism.
He said that Punjab government was taking all necessary measures under the National Action Plan and its full implementation was being ensured for eradicating terrorism.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the courageous people of the country have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism and the efforts to root out this scourge will succeed.
He said that he firmly believes that all problems can be overcome with commitment and determination and Pakistani nation has expressed its resolve to eradicate terrorism on permanent basis.
He further said, promotion of tolerance, restraint and brotherhood is essential for setting up a peaceful society and due to the exemplary unity and harmony of the masses, the nefarious designs of terrorists will be foiled and they will be brought to their logical end.
