imageISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday has ordered to arrest the police officers present during the burning of Christian couple.

A three-member bench led by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk heard the Kot Radha Kishan case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Chief Justice asked that why didn't the armed police officers resort to aerial firing? The mob could have been dispersed through aerial firing, he said.

SC has also given orders to take action against Maulvi Noor Hassan and Arshad Baloch for provoking the people. Expressing dissatisfaction with the report submitted by the police officers, the court has ordered the SP Investigation to present the complete investigation report in the next hearing.

Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk expressed his dissatisfaction with the report submitted by DPO and RPO. He argued that complete details and facts have not been highlighted in the report. He also said that it seems the police officers failed to perform their duty by rescuing the Christian couple. It is because of their negligence that the tragic incident occurred.

The court ordered to begin criminal and departmental proceedings against the police officers. Chief Justice adjourned the court until January 13 ordering DPO Kasur to present detailed report in next hearing.

The District Police Officer (DPO) of Kot Radha Kishan on Monday has submitted the investigation report in the Court about the Christian couple that was lynched after being accused of blasphemy.

According to the report, as many as 138 people are involved in the incident and FIR has been registered against them. Out of the 138 criminals, 59 have been arrested by the police.

The Joint Investigation Team is further investigating the matter to arrest the arrest of the culprits. Statements of 12 witnesses have been recorded regarding the case.

In order to ensure safety for the minorities residing in the locality, a heavy contingent of police force has been deployed in the area. Challan for the incident has been prepared and will be presented in the Anti -Terrorism Court.
