imageISLAMABAD: The nominees of chambers of commerce and industries including women chambers, chamber for small traders, national level associations, representing industry, trade and services will cast vote in the forthcoming annual election of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry to be held on Dec 29 next.

FPCCI sources told APP here Thursday that the provincial voters list comprising two each nominees of 57 chambers,1 small traders chambers and 102 affiliated Pakistan associations have been enrolled for exercising their right of franchise.

Any aggrieved person, can file appeal against the provincial voters list to the Regulator of Trade Organizations by Nov 21 and if any, will be taken up on Dec 01 followed by display of final list on Dec 03.

The nomination papers for the election to the office of President, Senior VP and 10 VPs including one woman VP will be issued on Dec 04 with Dec 08 as last date for submission. All nomination papers must be duly proposed and seconded by the executive committee members and signed by the candidates.

About 127 voters out a total list of 160 had already joined the newly formed united business group (UBG) led by veteran trade leader Iftikhar Ali Malik. All their nominees are likely to be voted to power with overwhelming majority.

As per tradition of rotation, now new FPCCI chief will be elected from the province of Punjab and UBG in a democratic manners through voting has nominated Muhammad Adress as its presidential candidate while the names of the candidates for other seats SVP and VPs will be made public in 1st week of next month after consultation with regional trade leaders of the provinces concerned.

The electioneering of UBG under the parton-in-chief of S. M. Munir, chief executive Trade Development Authority Pakistan is in full swing across the country and conducting public and corner meetings to muster support from voters.

Other rival presidential candidate Anjum Nisar of businessman panel led by Tariq Sayeed with only a 10 member vote bank has so far been visited Sahiwal, Gujrat and Multan chambers whereas UBG has successfully conducted public meetings of traders at Lahore, Multan,Faisalabad,Islamabad,Karachi,Sialkot,Gujranwala,Sargodha,Quetta and several other chambers.

The all chambers from Punjab, Quetta and Khyber Pakhtunkawa provinces had already joined this group.
