KARACHI: Electricity has been suspended in several parts of Karachi along with various parts of Hyderabad, Jamshoro and southern Sindh since early morning.
According to media reports, “Due to the power breakdown, several water board pumping stations had also stopped functioning as a result of which electricity supply to Dhabeji, Gharo, Nak and Pepri pumping stations was suspended. Consequently, water supply to different parts of Karachi was also interrupted”.
Various areas of Karachi has been affected due to sudden trip including Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Gulistan-i-Johar, Burns road, Clifton, Defence, Saddar, Lines area, Federal-B-Area etc.
“K-Electric spokesman said the entire city was without power. The spokesman said that electricity supply had been suspended all across Karachi due to the tripping of production units, adding that the KE administration is in constant contact with the National Grid,” media reported.
Governer Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ibad and Muttahida Quami Movement committee has taken the notice of this power breakdown and said; people should be well informed about the problem to avoid any uncertain situation.
Emergency steps are being taken into consideration to restore the power breakdown due to Jumatul-wida and Shab-e-Qadar being observed today.
