imageAccording to India Today Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui reveals he has not been approached by Rahul Dholakia for the latter's upcoming film ‘Raees’

Rumours have been making the rounds that Siddiqui has signed on to play a cop in the film co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Siddiqui quashed these rumours, claiming them to be “distracting and embarrassing"

India Today quoted the ‘Talaash’ actor as saying, "I am at a loss to understand where these reports come from! I was never offered Raees. So the question of accepting or refusing the film doesn't arise. Someone in the media decided that I was part of the film. Then they decided I wasn't going to be part of it. All this drama is very distracting and embarrassing"

It was even being said he was asked to put on 20kgs of weight to suit the character. The 39-year-old actor said even if he tries he can’t gain that much weight.

"Even if I ate chocolates, sweets and pizzas round-the-clock my metabolism won't allow me to put on that kind weight. So there is no question of doing the role,' he added.

The crime-drama will be produced by Excel Entertainment and is slated to release on Eid, 2015.
