LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has directed that effective measures should be taken for prevention against measles including modern treatment.
"I will personally monitor the situation arising due to outbreak of the disease," he said and added that all out resources were being utilized for saving the children.
He directed Provincial Health Minister to pay regular visits to hospitals and personally review the situation and measures taken for controlling measles in Lahore, Faisalabad and other cities.
He directed that a report be submitted to him on daily basis. He said that helpline 0800-99000 had been fully activated for promoting awareness in the people and necessary information about preventive measures against measles could be acquired by contacting the helpline.
