imageSamsung, the South Korean technology giant recently unveiled a new “VR ready” 5.5 inch display at the Display Week conference.

The latest display supports 4K resolution and rumors are milling that Samsung will feature this display in its upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone predicted to be launched unveiled in coming months.

According to UploadVR, the upcoming 5.5-inch screen supports Ultra HD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The display offers a pixel density of 806 ppi (Pixels per inch), which is 44.7 percent higher than the regular displays, present in the smartphones of the current generation.

"However it seemed to be running at a lower frame rate, so it may currently have a less than optimal refresh rate for VR," added the report.

The display is said to be in a demonstration phase as a "prototype.”

Also at the conference, Samsung were also showcasing a different sort of Virtual Reality (VR) technology that is being labeled "Bio Blue."As per International Business Times, This Bio Blue technology can significantly reduce the harmful blue light on AMOLED display reducing it from 32pc to 6pc.

The tech will allow users to view the display for longer hours without the eyes getting strained. The South Korean tech giant also revealed its Lightfield Display that can offer a sense of depth along with a crisp resolution while viewing an image on a mobile device.
