Extremist political party Shiv Sena has now planned to protest against Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan’s film to promote in Mumbai.
According to Emirates 24/7 report, “We have taken a stand not to allow any Pakistani actor, cricketer or performer to step on Maharashtra soil,” says Akshay Bardapurkar, general Secretary of the Shiv Sena Chitrapat Sena, the film wing of the Shiv Sena.
The extremist party opposes any dealings with Pakistan. Shiv Sena earlier this month threatened to force the cancellation of Pakistani legend and singer Ghulam Ali’s concert as part of the fourth death anniversary tribute to late singer Jagjit Singh.
This is not the first time that Shiv Sena has demonstrated hostility towards Pakistani artists. A couple of months ago, Pakistani singing sensation Atif Aslam was forced to cancel his scheduled concert in Pune.
Reportedly, Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan and the Shiv Sena have been at loggerheads over several civic issues and over certain comments made by the actor.
