HAMBURG: Importers in the Philippines are believed to have bought an estimated 56,000 tonnes of animal feed wheat to be sourced from optional origins in a tender for up to 168,000 tonnes which closed on Friday, European traders said.
The tender had sought shipment between July and September in three 56,000 tonne consignments.
Traders said they believed the purchase was made at just below $215 a tonne c&f.
The wheat purchased was expected to be for shipment between July 26 and Aug. 15 if sourced from the Black Sea region or European Union or between Aug. 10 and Aug. 30 if sourced from Australia.
There was no purchase made of the other two 56,000 tonne consignments sought in the tender, traders said.
