Turkish president’s visit to Pakistan has been postponed, FO confirms

• FO spokesperson said that a new date for the visit is yet to be determined.
• PM said Pakistan is looking forward to accord a warm welcome to the Turkish president.

The Foreign Office said on Thursday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's much anticipated visit to Pakistan has been postponed.

During his weekly presser, Foreign Office spokesperson Mohammad Faisal confirmed that the visit of the Turkish president has been postponed and further said that a new date for the visit is yet to be determined.

"Pakistan and Turkey share brotherly ties. The visit of President Erdogan has been postponed for the time being and will be rescheduled," spokesperson said. Earlier, a Turkish diplomat Mustafa Yurdakul had tweeted that Erdogan's visit has been re-scheduled.

It had been reported that the Turkish president would pay an official visit to Pakistan on October 23. Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the government and the people of Pakistan are looking forward to accord a warm welcome to President Erdogan on his forthcoming visit to Pakistan later this month.
