The royal couple lands in Lahore on day-long visit

After their visit to their northern region of Pakistan yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived in Lahore on Thursday for a day-long visit.

The royal highnesses were received by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Governor Chaudhry Sarwar. The duchess will also make her first address in Pakistan during her visit in Lahore. The couple visited a school in SOS Village and interacted with the staff and students.

 

They will also visit National Cricket Academy, Badshahi Mosque and Shaukat Khanam Cancer Hospital during their visit. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit the children’s ward at the hospital to spend time with patients undergoing treatment and speak to their families. In 1996 and 1997 Diana, Princess of Wales, also visited the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.

Earlier on Wednesday, during the third day of their five-day trip, the couple paid a visit to Chitral district to observe the effect of climate change in the region. They visited Broghil and Bombaret village in Kalash valley. In the valley, the royal couple met locals and spent time with children. They also enjoyed performances of traditional dances and music by the local people.
