The cricketing world and Pakistan lost one of its biggest names after leg spinner Abdul Qadir died from suffering a massive heart attack on Friday.

Qadir was one of the best exponents of spin bowling and is credited for reviving the art of leg spin during the 70s and 80s emerging as one of the biggest superstars of the cricketing world. Condolences poured from around the world, as cricket lost one of its bowling magicians.

Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted, “Deeply saddened to hear of Abdul Qadir's passing. My prayers and condolences go to the family. Abdul Qadir was a genius, one of the greatest leg spinners of all time. And he was also the life of the dressing room entertaining the team with his wit ans humour”.

PM Khan, who used to call Qadir as his trump card during their cricketing days, further said Qadir would have gotten more wickets than Australia’s Shane Warne if he was playing  'cricket now with the modern DRS system', where batsmen can be given out on the front foot as well.

Fellow cricketers and people from all walks of life paid glowing tribute to the bowling great.
