PARIS: The European Commission raised its estimate of 2019/20 production of common wheat, or soft wheat, in the European Union to 142.7 million tonnes (mn t) from 141.3mn t, monthly data released on Monday showed.
The Commission also raised its monthly estimate of EU 2019/20 barley production, to 60.5mn t from 59.7mn t.
Forecast of 2019/20 maize production was cut to 68.5mn t from 69.5mn t while estimated rapeseed output was lowered to 17.5mn t from 18.0mn t.
The Commission kept unchanged its monthly estimates of 2019/20 common wheat exports and maize imports, at 25.5mn t and 15.5mn t, respectively.
