Upper parts of Hazara division receives heavy snowfall after two decades

ABBOTTABAD: The upper parts of the Hazara division during last two weeks received more than heavy snowfall almost after two decades.

Galyat and Thandyani received up to 2 feet snowfall while Kohistan, Naran Kaghan and other areas have received more than 3 feet snow during last 24 hours which again blocked the roads in district Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan, and Torghar. According to the metrological department the current spell of heavy snowfall and rain would be terminated tonight.

Balakot to Naran road is completely blocked as Ghanool land sliding has blocked the Naran road which is only connecting link for people from Kaghan to Shogran, Kagan to Naran and dozens of other villages to the rest of the country.

People have demanded from National Highways Authority (NHA) to remove the debris from Naran road otherwise it would destroy the whole road.

Karakoram Highway (KKH) is also blocked due to land sliding at various places in Kohistan and Battagram district which affect the movement of the people of northern areas.
