Court extends NBP official's remand in Rs3bn embezzlement case

LAHORE: An accountability court on Friday extended judicial remand of Usman Saeed, head of foreign exchange section of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Lahore, for another 14 days in Rs 3 billion embezzlement case.
The court directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials for producing Saeed on January 4, on expiry of the remand term.
Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Waseem Akhtar conducted the case proceedings. Investigation officer assured the court that supplementary reference would be filed soon against the accused, during the proceedings.
The arrested employee, Usman Saeed, worked at NBP's Main Branch Lahore before being arrested by the Bureau.
