Toyota Fortuner Sigma-4: The Off-Road King

Automobile giant Toyota cements its place among the world’s top manufacturers of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) with its latest entrant the Fortuner Sigma-4.

The all new Fortuner Sigma-4 comes with a muscular body and an eye catching design. Apart from the SUV’s robust engine the car features Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Assist Control (DAC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), as well as Emergency Brake Signal (EBS) – all packed inside a sleek body offering powerful performance and a comfortable ride.

The seven-seater SUV also introduces all-new luxury features including: Smart Entry, Push Start, Power Backdoor, LED Fog Lamps, terrain performance switches, multiple cooling stations, steering switches, etc.

This time around the company came up with an innovative new way to showcase its latest offering with a game-changing web series titled Steering with the Star’s.

The series showcased six local celebrities from various different backgrounds seated in the hot-seat alongside host Mohib Mirza. Stars drive the Fortuner Sigma-4 on a purpose-built track, navigating through challenging terrains and putting the SUV to the test.

Episode One saw Shehzad Roy, the Pop-star turned educationalist revealed about his program’s nationwide impact back in 2012, as the program led to the repeal of Section 89 by the National Assembly; as a result teachers are now barred from raising their hands to students. He praised the Sigma-4’s smooth drive on the back of Fortuner’s newly developed 2.8 Liter (1GD-FTV) diesel engine.

Episode Two we bumped into the multi-talented Sanam Saeed, the former VJ turned actor was all about breaking gender stereotypes and being a role model in today’s society.

On the race track, we got to see the ‘secretly competitive’ side of our Zindagi Gulzar Hai Kashaf, who drove the Fortuner Sigma-4 like a pro ending up the in just 2 minutes and 44 seconds.

In Episode 3, we come face to face with the spunky model and actor Amna Ilyas, the ‘queen of item numbers’ was left awestruck with Toyota’s SUV, as she comfortably rode the SUV on the challenging circuit.

Amna who killed it on the track was particularly impressed with the level of comfort Fortuner radiated, and the amazing DAC (Downhill Assist Control) feature.

Episode Four featured television personality Anoushey Ashraf, who revealed she wouldn’t mind taking the Fortuner cross-country, especially towards the beautiful North.

In Episode Five we meet the legendary Wasim Akram, who shares some secrets from back in his cricketing days. The Sultan-of Swing surprises with an awe-aspiring performance, and reveals the first car he ever bought was a Toyota Corolla for just Rs. 72,000(to be fair, this was back in 1985).

In the final Episode Six we get a chance to sit alongside the ever so charming model cum actor Imran Abbas, and we got to see the romantic side of him.  The actor ended up thanking Toyota’s Fortuner Sigma-4 latest DAC feature, for giving him the assist on the track and more importantly the belief to drive into the unknown territory.

Taking the Sigma-4 around the track, Akram proved to be the Greatest of All Time finishing with a record time of just 1 minute 46 seconds. Anoushey Ashraf was a close second with a track time of 2 minutes and one second.

All in all, Steering with the Star’s allowed us to take a sip into the real life of our beloved stars, as they give their vote of approval to the all new Toyota Fortuner Sigma 4.
