QUETTA: Director General, National Accountability Bureau Balochistan Muhammad Abid Javed on Friday said that all institutions have to work together to fight corruption.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized by National Accountability Bureau Baluchistan and Metropolitan Corporation in connection with World Anti-Corruption Day.

The seminar was attended by members of the Chamber of Commerce, Representatives of Pakistan Engineering Council, Representatives of Balochistan Contractors Association, civil society officials, social workers and people belonging from different walks of life. The seminar aimed at highlighting corruption being carried out in developmental projects and resolution of contractors' problems in that regard.

Speakers of the seminar, Director General NAB Balochistan, Vice Chairman of Pakistan Engineering Council, Mayor and Deputy Mayor Quetta discussed various issues including blemishes in development project plans, reasons behind delay in completion of development projects and consequences of misapplication and waste of government resources.

The speakers stressed that the rules and regulations should be implemented to purge corruption.

DG NAB Balochistan urged the participants of the seminar to develop habit of earning lawful livelihood which was significant for building corruption-free society.

A walk was also held at the end of the seminar, aimed at reinforcing a struggle against corruption.
