PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai said radio channels being run by the provincial government would be made further effective to abridge the gap between people and public representatives.
He said this in a briefing held here Tuesday regarding radio channels run under the administrative setup of provincial information department.
The meeting among others was attended by Secretary Information, Director General Information and Station Director Pakhtunkhwa Radio.
The minister said radio channels would be made more active to appraise the people regarding performance of the government and highlight their problems.
He said the government desired that each and every step of it be made public so that masses should be made aware of the efforts of the government about their grievances and issues.
Regarding tribal district, the minister said radio channels would be made active in these districts besides introducing new channels as per requirements of the areas.
He said the system would help maintaining a liaison between the government and tribal people.
He also directed the information department to ensure the participation of different communities in radio programs.
