Partnering with McLaren, OnePlus schedules ‘Salute to Speed’ event next month

Mark your calendars as OnePlus will give a ‘Salute to Speed’ next month with its partnership with McLaren where it is expected to introduce its special edition phone.

Smartphone manufacturer OnePlus recently announced about its partnership with automotive firm McLaren and is most likely to launch a special edition smartphone. The proper announcement is scheduled next month on December 11 at the ‘Salute to Speed’ launch event.

The new phone, probably the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, or simply McLaren 6T, as per GSM Arena, is expected to be a limited edition phone featuring an orange gradient color, like the first racing car Bruce McLaren drove back in 1966.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said, “McLaren and OnePlus were born in a similar way - with a big dream to create something special. Starting from nothing, we challenged ourselves to never settle. Today we unveil a true testament to innovation, a salute to speed.”

OnePlus has previously partnered with various firms to release its limited edition smartphones including OnePlus 5T Star Wars and OnePlus 6 Avengers Infinity War. Moreover, other smartphone brands have also partnered with automobile firms to launch their special edition phones such as when Oppo launched its Oppo Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition, and Huawei launched  Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS.
