The newly elected government of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to launch a new investment scheme for the overseas Pakistanis.

Chinese media outlet Xinhua, citing local media reports suggested that the new investment scheme is aimed at providing the new government some financial leverage to tackle the balance of payment crisis, also strengthening the country's depleting foreign exchange reserves.

As per the report, ‘Pakistan's new Finance Minister Asad Umer will float the investment bond for the overseas Pakistanis to give them a chance to be a part of the country's efforts to regain the financial optimism and confidence and an opportunity to earn them decent profit.’

Earlier, Asad Umar has stated that the overseas Pakistani would be provided with profitable packages in Pakistan.

“Overseas Pakistanis would enjoy security of their money after investment in Pakistan,” stated Asad. Umar was of the view that overseas Pakistanis had been facing difficulties in investment in the country, adding all options were under consideration for the betterment of economy.
