LAHORE: A Lahore High Court division bench on Monday disposed of an Intra-Court Appeal seeking directions for registration of a case against PML-N leader Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar.

The division bench headed by Justice Abdul Sami Khan heard the appeal filed by one James.

During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel arguing before the court submitted that Capt. (retd) Muhammad Safdar used inappropriate remarks about the minorities in the National Assembly.

He said that the remarks hurt the sentiments of the minorities, therefore, directions should be issued for registration of a case against him. He also pleaded with the court to set aside the single bench verdict which had dismissed the petition filed in that regard.

However, a law officer apprised the court that only Speaker National Assembly was empowered to take action in that regard as the incident took place at assembly floor.

At this, the bench disposed of the petition and directed the petitioner to approach concerned forum.
