Many Pakistani women have taken to social media to raise their voice against Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) new bill allowing husbands to ‘lightly beat’ defying wives.
Pakistani actors Hamza Ali Abbasi and Mahira Khan have given an interesting take on the bill passed by CII. In a recent video posted by Hamza Ali Abbasi on Instagram, the duo enacted a scenario where the ‘Pyare Afzal’ star raises his hand to slap Mahira, but before he could do it, the gorgeous diva showed what will happen if someone tries to ‘light-beat’ her.
Mahira Khan gave a strong message that Pakistani women are not weak as perceived by ‘most of the people’.
Twitter hashtag #TryBeatingMeLightly has recently made headlines narrating how Pakistani women hit back at the controversial bill that allows husbands to ‘light beat’ their wives.
