MULTAN: Pakistan is the fourth biggest mango producing country in the world but regrettably mango orchards' average production is low as compared to developed country.
This was stated by Executive District Officer Agriculture Rana Busharat while addressing a seminar on Wednesday.
He said that mango growers should adopt latest techniques and practices for getting higher production.
Assistant Director Fruit and Vegetable department Multan Chaudhary Niaz Ahmed proposed that standard inputs should be applied to obtain best quality mangoes.
Deputy Director Fruit and Vegetable Haji Nasir Ahmed that their department was extending every possible help for promotion of mangoes.
He further informed that Punjab government was taking effective steps to impart training to growers and also offer new technology for enhancing the quality of fruit.
He further said that Pakistani mangoes were considered as the best in taste and quality across the world.
The host of the seminar renowned progressive grower Mehr Khalil Jotta also spoke on the occasion. The seminar was attended by a large number of mango growers.
