india flag 400NEW DELHI: India's northern grid, which covers an area home to more than 300 million people, failed for the second day in a row on Tuesday, an official said, with the outage also reportedly spreading to the eastern grid.

"Yes, there has been some disturbance," V.K. Agrawal, the general manager of the Northern Grid, told AFP when asked if the northern grid had collapsed.

The Press Trust of India, citing power ministry sources, said the eastern power grid had also failed.
