imageThe United Kingdom has spoken, and it has decided to leave the European Union. However, it seems that the 48pc of the voters who wished to ‘Remain in the European Union’ are not buying the Leave result, and has set up a parliamentary petition calling for a second referendum.

According to The Telegraph, the petition which reads, “We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60pc based a turnout less than 75pc there should be another referendum.”

The newly announced petition has already caused a surge in traffic on the UK government website, and the count at the time of writing stood at above 83,000 signatures, and is climbing fast to reach its target of over 100,000 signatures, which is the number that open up doors for debate in the UK Parliament.

imageBritain has voted to leave the European Union, with a turnout of 72pc. The Leave won the referendum with 51.9pc or 17,410,742 votes, while Remain gathered only 48.1pc or 16,141,241 votes.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron, who put his support behind the Remain campaign, announced his resignation today.
