imageBERLIN: French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday stressed the need to speed up efforts to reach a loan deal between Greece and its creditors.

"We must accelerate it because the deadline is approaching," said Hollande during a Berlin visit.

Merkel agreed that "the talks should be accelerated" and called for "significant progress" in Greece's talks with the International Monetary Fund, European Commission and European Central Bank.
