The prime minister directed for making the Punjab Cooperative Department functional through which the financial support to the farmers would be extended.
He was distributing prizes and certificates among the medical college graduates as the chief guest at the 7th convocation of the University of Faisalabad on Monday.
The minister said that if Nawaz Sharif's name was mentioned, he was a convict and a fugitive from the judiciary. If his voice was raised in the House, it was an insult to the courts, he added.
Raja Basharat said that Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar himself was a farmer, who could understand the problems of his farmers better than any other.
He said this while presiding over a review meeting of the proposed Black Day arrangements here. Information Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar gave a briefing on the arrangements.
Raja Basharat said that the chief minister had given the target of transferring 645 daily wagers on contract basis but so far only 319 persons had been recruited.
Raja Basharat said that schools across the province would be fully opened from September 30, so the SOPs set by the government should be strictly enforced.
He was addressing the current session of Punjab Assembly which started one hour and 39 minutes behind its scheduled time with Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Mazari in the chair.
The minister said that Pakistan would continue to support the oppressed Kashmiris till they get independence from India as our hearts beat with Kashmiris.
