imageISLAMABAD: As many as six private member bills were introduced in the National Assembly on Tuesday while a bill moved by Saman Sultana Jafri seeking amendment in the Higher Education Commission Ordinance 2002 was rejected.

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq referred all the bills to the concerned committees after non-opposing by the treasury benches.

These bills included the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2016 (Amendment) of Article 224A), the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2016] (Amendment) of Article 77), the Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the Pakistan Penal Code (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2016, the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2016] (Amendment of Article 106).

The bills were moved by Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, Sajid Ahmed, Dr Nikhat Shakeel Khan, Belum Hasnain, Shania Rehmani, Asiya Nasir and Saman Sultana Jafri respectively.

Meanwhile, Chairman Standing Committee on Defence Shaikh Rohale Asghar presented the report of committee on the bill further to amend the Pakistan Army Act, 1952 (No.XXXIX of 1952) [The Pakistan Army (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015.
