imageISLAMABAD: Senior Parliamentarian and Chief of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Mahmood Khan Achakzai on Wednesday urged the Prime Minister not to resign and proposed to keep the Parliament in session till the protests continue.

I request the Prime Minister not to resign at any cost. Nawaz Sharif is not simply a person, he is Leader of the House and this parliament is with him. Therefore, no resignation at all, he said on a point of order, during discussion on political situation in the country.

Achakzai said that democratic and undemocratic forces are now face to face. Therefore, parliament must be in session till these undemocratic protests continue.

He also called upon the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition to convene meeting of Parliamentary parties and also cancel the leaves of parliamentarians.

He said there is one Parliament in the country and that is this Parliament where we are sitting and discussing the problems of people. There can no parliament of people. This is the elected parliament of people.

He also asked the Prime Minister to reply their allegations and demands from this House so everybody could better support the Prime Minister, democracy and Parliament, and the Constitution of Pakistan.
