imageISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country again surged to 3,000 MW as the total generation on Tuesday was recorded as 14,800 MW against the demand of 17,800 MW at 1400 hours.

According to daily data released by National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) the hydel generation stood at 5,700 MW, Wapda Thermal 1,940 MW, Wind 35 MW, Wind 95 MW and Independent power producers (IPPs) 7,160 MW.

The hydel generation has significantly increased owing to more water discharge from both the reservoirs Tarbela and Mangla dams and stood at 5,700 MW.
