KARACHI: Karachi police confirmed killing of DSP Majeed Abbasi, officiating as SP - SITE Town, consequent to an attack by unknown assailants Tuesday in Karachi's Shah Latif Town area.
The police official was on his way to duty when killers opened fire on his vehicle leaving him critically injured and he reportedly succumbed to his injuries while being carried to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre.
According to Shah Latif Town police station officials there were four unidentified assailants who targeted police mobile carrying DSP Majeed Abbasi near Masjid Ahl Hadees, also leaving the driver injured.
He was said to be actively engaged in search operations in the metropolis and unfortunately emerged to be another officer of DSP rank to be killed in the metropolis in around a month's time.
It was on May 9 that DSP Zulfiqar Zaidi was gunned down in Shah Faisal Colony.
