LAHORE: The D-8 countries summit in Pakistan have paved way for opening new vistas of development in the region and government of Pakistan deserves an appreciation for it.
Representatives of the business community, including president The Indus Enterprisers (TIE) Saleem Ghauri, chairman Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) Agha Saiddan and others observed this talking to APP here on Friday.
They congratulated the government of Pakistan for successfully holding summit of D-8 countries and called the event a right step at a right time.
They said participants of the summit had rightly decided to enhance cooperation for generation and development of maximum energy resources in the region.
Practical steps in line with the declaration of the summit would help a lot to overcome energy related problems in Pakistan, they said.
Ghauri congratulated Pakistani nation for holding D-8 countries summit.
He also praised President Asif Ali Zardari for his role to lead the developing countries towards better future by shedding light on opportunities of progress and prosperity for them.
Agha Saiddan said collaboration of D-8 countries to overcome energy deficiency would result in boosting business in Pakistan and other countries.
