PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan Khalil has appealed to people of the country to promote peace and harmony in their ranks and restore the true image of Islam in the comity of nations.
In a press statement issued here on Friday, the Minister said that brotherhood and promotion of religious harmony were the need of the hour especially during the holy month of Moharam-ul Haram.
He said that Islam teaches tolerance and peace and given the number of challenges faced by the country we should forge unity in our ranks. Arbab Alamgir asked people to keep vigilant check over anti-state elements, who are out to destroy peace of the country for their vested interests.
He said that the present regime was taking all possible measures to ensure peace in the country but the dream of lasting peace would not materialize till all and sundry strengthen the hands of government.
