(Karachi) In wake of the coronavirus crisis and lockdown, the cabinet members and prime minister will donate one-month salary in Corona Relief Fund.

This was announced by Information Minister Shibli Faraz during a press briefing on Tuesday.

He said the cabinet approved easing lockdown and restrictions across the country from May 9. However, he said the final decision in this regard will be taken in the meeting of National Command and Control Centre on May 6 (tomorrow).

He added the cabinet also decided to include 61 food and non-food items in PSQCA's quality control list, the minister pointed out.

The cabinet also rejected the plan of inclusion of Qadiyanis in the proposed minorities’ commission. He said the prime minister wants the election process to be transparent and free from political influences.

The information minister said that the cabinet also discussed about bringing reforms in the criminal justice system. The meeting also gave approval to export sanitizers, he mentioned.

Faraz said the government is trying to export such products to increase foreign exchange and exports.

He said that 76 illegal recruitments unearthed in cabinet during the previous government's tenure. He said police stations will be digitilized for better policing.

Meanwhile, the cabinet discussed various agenda items of national and international importance, besides discussing situation arising out of the Corona outbreak in the country.
