The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to suspend all walk-in consular services except the attestation of power of attorney in order to take necessary precautions to deal with the rising threat of COVID-19.

According to a statement of the Foreign Office, the consular services would remain suspended from 18th March till 3rd April, after which the decision will be reviewed. However, the facility of the attestation of documents would continue through courier companies i.e., Pakistan Post, Gerry's, Leopard, and the TCS, it added.

It further stated that the ministry has also established a special cell for coordination on COVID-19 under the supervision of the special secretary (administration) to liaise with the diplomatic corps in Pakistan as well as with Pakistan's missions abroad.
