A day after the Lahore High Court (LHC) observed that all citizens have right to express feelings or message within the limits of the Constitution, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have finally held a meeting with the organisers of "Aurat March-2020" for devising a comprehensive security plan and a code of conduct for the smooth culmination of the event.

In this context, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Rai Babar Saeed held a meeting with the representatives of LEAs and organisers of the Aurat March at his office on Wednesday. Rights activist Leena Ghani and Advocate Asad represented the Aurat March while SSP Operations Muhammad Naveed, Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Amir Shafique, SP Security Bilal Zafar and officials of the Punjab Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch and security forces participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, an official said that both the sides discussed in detail the security arrangements and what would be the code of conduct for the participants as the court had directed that no hate speech, slogans and placards should be used that could hurt sentiments of any segment of society. The LEAs unanimously agreed to provide foolproof security cover to the participants during the event scheduled to be held on March 8.
