Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed will meet with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah today to discuss issues pertaining to revival of much delayed Karachi Circular Railways (KCR) at CM's House, railways officials said.

The meeting would be focused on framing of modalities for the revival of KCR, especially the encroachment of residential settlements alongside the track that have put a temporary halt to the demolition drive initiated by the Pakistan Railways on 12th February.

They said that Pakistan Railways demolished two multi-story buildings which were built on the land of KCR near Gillani station in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. It also prepared a survey report for revamping KCR, clearing bushes from the track, but the human houses built along the track a major obstacle to KCR revival.

The PTI-based provincial legislators have also criticised over razing of homes alongside the track.

The fortnight period given to Sindh government and Pakistan Railways by the Supreme Court also set to expire this Friday when this case will be heard again.
