RLNG plants' sell-off: Legal matters will be resolved promptly, Soomro assured

Federal Minister for Privatization, Mohammed mian Soomro and Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat Thursday discussed legal matters relating to the privatization of power plants - Haveli Bahadarsh and Balloki - in Lahore. Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, Secretary Municipal Authority, Secretary Irrigation and DG LDA also attended the meeting.

Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat was briefed about the privatization of RLNG-based power plants Haveli Bahadarsh 1,230MW and Balloki 1,223MW. Punjab Law Minister said all matters relating to land conversion, relevant laws, and other legal complications regarding privatization of these power plants will be promptly resolved. Moreover, Federal Minister and Punjab Law Minister directed that the sub-committees to that effect be formulated to dispose of legal matters.

Mohammedmian Soomro visited LDA office Lahore and later National Power Parks Management Company NPPMCL.

Virtual Data Room (VDR) was also inaugurated by the Federal Minister Mohammedmian Soomro here. VDR is designed by the National Power Parks Management Company Limited (NPPMCL) to facilitate investors. VDR is a one-window platform which provides all the important information to investors regarding power parks under the NPPMCL.

Soomro appreciated the efforts of NPPMCL and advised to incorporate rapid response system in the VDR. The minister highlighted the importance of coordination between the different government entities for the facilitation of investors.

"MARKHOR" as a title name has been given to this VDR by Mohammedmian Soomro.

The VDR will contain more than 78,000 important documents and 474 different specialized folders for the public facilitation.-PR
