Sindh Minister for Information and Labour Saeed Ghani has said that the Sindh government had always given priority to provide quality education and modern health facilities under Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI) hospitals and educational institutions.
This he said while receiving the progress of health and educational facilities being provided to the labourers and their children during the 153rd Governing Board of SESSI at his office here.
He said that Pakistan Peoples Party under the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari always wanted to see the workers and labourers to prosper in Sindh. He said that the institutions created by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for the well being and welfare of the members of the labour community were exemplary. Former president Asif Ali Zardari also always gave priority to the legislation not only to protect workers' economic rights, but also their basic rights.
Saeed Ghani said that labourers from all over the country rushed to Sindh for employment, but due to the failed economic policies of federal government, labour class has been badly affected. He further added that he wanted to provide the best possible facilities in the schools and hospitals functioning under the Labour department and SESSI.
Ghani said that he wanted to make all the institutions to be run as state of the art following international standards. He asked the members of the governing board of SESSI to play their due role and do their utmost in this regard.
Meeting also confirmed/approved the minutes of the last meeting of the governing board of SESSI. Representatives of labour and industrialists' associations also attended the meeting.
