Dozens of tent homes burned to ashes as a huge fire engulfed shanties near the Teen Hatti here in late Tuesday night, depriving the already vulnerable residents of the slum of their valuables in this harsh weather.
As per rescue officials, three injured persons were rushed to the hospital for medical aid while no loss of human life was reported till filing of this report. The cause of the fire was remained unknown to the authorities concerned.
The inferno prompted the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to impose emergency at all hydrants in the city, with the board dispatched fire tenders to the site that doused the flames after hours long rescue efforts.
